Beer Butt Chicken

Ingredients

2 whole chickens, about 3 lbs each
1 tbsp paprika
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp packed brown sugar
2 12 oz cans beer
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic diced

Method

Trim chickens of any excess fat. Rinse inside and out and pat dry. In a small bowl, combine paprika, chili powder, oregano, salt, black and cayenne peppers, garlic powder, and brown sugar; mix well. Run about a teaspoon of the mixture on the inside of each chicken. Rub the remaining mixture over the surface of the chickens. Open beers and pour off about half of the beer; Stuff the onion and garlic into the cans. Ease the chickens over the beer cans, feet down, until chickens are resting on the cans and their legs. The beer cans must remain upright at all times. Scatter a handful of soaked hickory chips over hot charcoal that has ashed over. Place chickens and their beer cans on the grill over the fire. Close lid, leaving vents open. Grill for about 2 hours, or until legs and wings wiggle easily, adding six to eight briquettes to fire every 30 min.

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Ingredients

6 boneless skinless chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 slices ham
3 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup white wine or broth
1 teaspoon chicken broth granules
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup heavy cream
4 cups hot, cooked linguini

Method

Place a ham and a cheese slice on each chicken breast. Roll up tightly, tucking in sides to completely enclose ham and cheese. Secure with toothpicks. Mix flour and next 4 ingredients in a small bowl and coat the chicken pieces with the mixture. In a large skillet heat the butter over medium-high heat and brown the chicken rolls on all sides. Add wine and broth granules, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes, until chicken is done in center. Remove chicken and keep warm on a serving platter. Blend cornstarch with the cream and stir into the skillet, stirring constantly and cooking until thickened. Serve sauce over chicken and linguini.

Notes: I get many requests for this recipe from friends and family. I've been told that it's better than the version served in most restaurants.

Golden Gate Chinese Beef

Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds beef skirt steak
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 package (9 ounces) frozen Chinese vegetables
1/4 cup canola oil
three stalks bok choy washed and sliced thin, (use as much of green tops as possible)
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, cleaned
1 bunch green onions, sliced
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 can (14 ounces) vegetable broth
3 tablespoons corn starch
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 cups hot lo mein noodles

Method

Cut skirt steak diagonally into very thin slices and place in 9 inch pie plate. Mix soy sauce, ground ginger, and crushed garlic, sprinkle on meat. Toss meat to cover. Marinate 1 hour. Defrost vegetables in microwave careful not to cook them. In large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons oil. Brown meat, turn once. Remove meat to warm plate. Add 2 more tablespoons oil, cook and stir defrosted vegetables, bok choy, mushrooms, green onion and water chestnuts for 2 minutes. Add one cup vegetable broth, cover and cook 2 more minutes. Mix remaining vegetable broth, corn starch, soy sauce, pour into skillet. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Stir at a boil one minute. Add meat, heat through. Serve over lo mein noodles.

Notes: This seems like it is complicated. It isn't, and takes very little time. It is great when you have unexpected company.

Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in).

The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction during the long, dark winter.

To commemorate the event, Druids built huge sacred bonfires, where the people gathered to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic deities.

During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins, and attempted to tell each other's fortunes. When the celebration was over, they re-lit their hearth fires, which they had extinguished earlier that evening, from the sacred bonfire to help protect them during the coming winter.

By A.D. 43, Romans had conquered the majority of Celtic territory. In the course of the four hundred years that they ruled the Celtic lands, two festivals of Roman origin were combined with the traditional Celtic celebration of Samhain.

The first was Feralia, a day in late October when the Romans traditionally commemorated the passing of the dead. The second was a day to honor Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. The symbol of Pomona is the apple and the incorporation of this celebration into Samhain probably explains the tradition of "bobbing" for apples that is practiced today on Halloween.

By the 800s, the influence of Christianity had spread into Celtic lands. In the seventh century, Pope Boniface IV designated November 1 All Saints' Day, a time to honor saints and martyrs. It is widely believed today that the pope was attempting to replace the Celtic festival of the dead with a related, but church-sanctioned holiday. The celebration was also called All-hallows or All-hallowmas (from Middle English Alholowmesse meaning All Saints' Day) and the night before it, the night of Samhain, began to be called All-hallows Eve and, eventually, Halloween. Even later, in A.D. 1000, the church would make November 2 All Souls' Day, a day to honor the dead. It was celebrated similarly to Samhain, with big bonfires, parades, and dressing up in costumes as saints, angels, and devils. Together, the three celebrations, the eve of All Saints', All Saints', and All Souls', were called Hallowmas.

Before the wide spread of internet working that led to the Internet, most communication networks were limited by their nature to only allow communications between the stations on the local network and the prevalent computer networking method was based on the central mainframe computer model. Several research programs began to explore and articulate principles of networking between physically separate networks, leading to the development of the packet switching model of digital networking. These research efforts included those of the laboratories of Donald Davies (NPL), Paul Baran (RAND Corporation), and Leonard Kleinrock at MIT and at UCLA. The research led to the development of several packet-switched networking solutions in the late 1960s and 1970s,[1] including ARPANET and the X.25 protocols. All of the survivors start to meet gruesome ends, and Josh decides to get help. Now Heather, Josh, Kevin and Wendy must figure out the pattern and destroy deaths plan once and for all. This film is also rumored to be in 3-D.

But they did say that in this Destination movie they try to stop Death once and for all. I haven't watch the movie yet.. but I will.. I really like Final Destination the movies although this movie only get 3.5 rating out of 10, puts the Final Destination 4 review rating about six percentage points behind Halloween 2, which has a 21% positive review count (got that info from Rotten Tomatoes) and Terminator 4 is comming out the same year...

Christian Bale and Steve Zahn starring in Rescue Dawn, an action drama by Werner Herzog and based on the director’s acclaimed 1997 documentary, Little Dieter Needs to Fly. Dieter Dengler The project, which has been coming together in fits and starts during the past year, begins shooting in Thailand in mid-August.

The film recounts the true story of German-born Dieter Dengler (May 22, 1938 - February 7, 2001) who was a United States Navy pilot during the Vietnam War. He was the sole survivor of an escape attempt from a Pathet Lao prison camp in Laos.

Werner Herzog’s Rescue Dawn, produced by Steve Marlton & Elton Brand is set to open in USA on July 20, 2007.

When being interviewed about his play as Dieter Dengler under the direction of the notoriously eccentric Herzog, it stands to reason that this wasn’t his average adventure-film shoot, like Batman. And indeed there were reports of perilous stunts and of fights between Bale and Herzog, most of which the actor pooh-poohs.

About the rumours Bale said that Werner isn’t as dangerous or crazy as people think. "He is a really intriguing guy who is full of so many surprises.

In the near future the ultimate sporting event is the deathrace. Contestants get score points for running people down as they speed across the country. The sport has crazed fans who sacrifice themselves to the drivers. An overt agency is trying to bring an end to the immoral deathrace and has infiltrated one of their followers in to the race as a navigator. In the end of the race the lives of the competitors, the President and the deathrace itself are in peril.

Seriously. I'm no expert on movies, but this one sucks. Worst of them all was the person that palyed Frankenstain, trully horrible. But I got a lot of negative things to say. For example, a car tire on grass doesn’t squeal. The fighting scene in the middle of the movie, between Frankenstein and Sylvester was absolutely horrible! It didn't even look like they were hitting each other. A girl managed to throw a guy out of her car with one arm, and her face didn't even show signs of that she were in a struggle. The whole thing was just incredibly lame! And Mr. President. Oh my god! He died from falling 1 meter! Everybody died! People died from nothing! And this scene where that girl tries to run over a guy playing with her like a matador would with a bull! I mean! She's a human for Christ’s sake! And it doesn't take much to run down a man standing still with a car!

Ok. So the movie sucks. Couldn't it at least be entertaining? I've watched a lot of movies that suck. But they were at least entertaining. But this movie isn't entertaining at all!

In 2012, the USA economy collapses and life for everyone is not the same. Once a NASCAR champion, Jensen Ames, (Jason Statham), hits rock bottom and spent several years in prison. His life was improving and changing for the better after marrying Suzy (Janaya Stephens) and having a baby girl. Then the steel mill closes, and he loses his job.

But that was not the worst thing to happen to Jenson that day. Suzy is brutally murdered, and he is framed for her murder. Jenson is sent to Terminal Island, the worst and toughest for-profit prison in the country run by Warden Hennessey (Joan Allen). She has created the country's most popular pay-per-view sport, a kill-or-be-killed car race where the inmates race to win their freedom from prison after 5 wins. Every inmate driver is driving a monster car that they built which is loaded with machine guns, missiles, flamethrowers, napalm, and no rules. Warden Hennessey convinces Jensen to secretly take the place of the late 4-time superstar winner, Frankenstein, and wear his metallic mask in the race. If Jensen wins just one race, he can go home to his baby daughter. To get to the finish line, Jensen must kill his competition before they kill him.

Aren't there a lot of people talking about Death Race now that it's out? Because I remember people where talking about Dark Knight before it came out and it was being mentioned everywhere. Death Race was a hell of a lot more appealing to me. I know it's not about a superhero but their are some maniacs involved with both films.

Focuses on the Russos. A typical family, which includes a mom, Theresa Russo; a dad, Jerry Russo; a son, Justin Russo; a daughter, Alex Russo; and another son, Max Russo. The kids and the family live normal lives but what their friends don't know is the kids are wizards in training and the dad was a former wizard!

I have been watching this show more and more lately and then I thought: isn't this similar to Sabrina, the teenage witch?

I mean really, even though she has siblings, it's usually the girl who gets into trouble...just like Sabrina???
